<p>Patricia M. Nansel, age 77, of Bradford, MA passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023 at the High Pointe Hospice House after a brief illness. Her family is left heartbroken at the suddenness of her recent decline but are grateful they were able to communicate with her and her with them right up until her last hours and that her passing was pain free and peaceful. She was the wife of Richard D. Nansel, with whom she would have celebrated 56 years of marriage on April 16, and daughter of the late John J. and Mary M. Murphy.</p><p><br></p><p>Pat was born on April 7, 1945 and attended St. James High School in Haverhill graduating in 1963. After high school she attended the Addison Gilbert Hospital School of Nursing in Gloucester, MA graduating with her LPN degree. Pat went on to practice nursing for 35 years at the Hale Hospital/Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill, with the majority of that time spent in the Operating Room as a scrub nurse.</p><p><br></p><p>Besides her husband, Pat leaves daughter Kristen Kellett of Bradford, MA and son Erik Nansel and wife Caryl of Wilmington, MA. She also leaves the lights of her life, her beloved grandchildren Delaney, Kaelyn, and Keegan of Bradford and Brett and Kelsie of Wilmington. Also left behind are her sister Marilyn Held and husband John of Aylett, VA and her brother Michael Murphy and wife Jeanne of Hampstead, NH, a brother-in-law-George Dekeon, several nieces and nephews, cousins and many cherished friends. She was predeceased by her beloved youngest son Sean in 2006, her parents, and her best friend Diane Burke in 2022. We take solace in knowing she has been reunited with them in heaven.</p><p><br></p><p>Pat’s biggest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and friends. She loved to travel to the beach, a Caribbean island, go on a cruise, attend a Broadway show, shop, and attend her grandchildren’s sporting, dance, and theater events. It seemed she never missed a game or dance recital and didn’t mind if they lasted all day. Over the years Pat hosted many holidays and she loved to cook for family and friends. She was however unsuccessful in passing that love of cooking gene down to her children, it skipped a generation and all of her grandchildren now like to cook.</p><p><br></p><p>Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend her calling hours on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 9:00-10:30AM at the H.L. Farmer &amp; Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at Sacred Hearts Parish, 165 South Main St., Bradford. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
