<p>John Alan Moore, age 75, of Sebastian, FL, passed away at Lawnwood Medical Center February 27, 2023 of a massive stroke. </p><p>Born April 22, 1947 in High Point, NC to John and Annie Belle Moore (dec. 2002, 2012). Graduated 1965 from High Point Central High School and attended East Carolina University until joining the Marine Corp, where he earned honors as a rifle marksman. Married Karen (Meachem) Moore in 1968 (div. 2002), they traveled the south playing music in his band, Love American Style. Moved to Nashville, TN in 1973. Fathered sons Jason (52), Paul (46) and daughters Emily (dec. 1980), Allison (40), Juliana (38). </p><p>Alan quickly rose through the Nashville recording industry as a renowned musical composer and arranger in both country and Christian contemporary music, working with such artists as Mel Tillis, George Strait, Barbara Mandrell, Amy Grant, Sandi Patti, Michael Card, Steve Green, Gladys Knight and Dean Martin. Alan was a mentor to countless artists and in 1988, opened Moore Music Group in Chicago, IL composing music for clients like McDonalds, United Airlines and Hallmark. He earned many national Clio awards, gold and platinum records. His music is still heard each holiday season with the perennial classic, Amy Grant’s Christmas Album. Alan married Nancy (Vander Plate) Moore (72) in 2007 where they retired to his lifelong favorite vacation destination, Florida. </p><p>Alan is survived by his wife, Nancy, sister Rhonda (69), brother Stan (65) and children, Jason (Treena), Paul, Allison, and Juliana (John). Grandchildren Ruth (27), Emma (23), Charlie (19), Jane (17), Fletcher (15), Mae (11), Ari (9) and Laton Alira Cox, born March 4, 2023. </p><p>An enormous musical talent, he lived a full life of wild abandon and intense love for his children and God. Those who knew him easily remember his tenderness and hysterical humor. He is deeply&nbsp; missed. </p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Nancy and Alan’s cherished local community through St. Vincent DePaul Wabasso’s efforts to support people experiencing poverty and the disadvantaged near their home in Sebastian, Florida.
