James W. Garceau Obituary

James W. Garceau, 70, of Manitowoc passed away on March 12, 2023, at Sharon Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.

James was born on September 28, 1952, in Two Rivers to Robert and Lorraine (Cornils) Garceau. He was a graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers. James married Susan Dahm on June 8, 1974. James entered the workforce working alongside his dad at Bob Garceau Masonry. He went on to work at F. Radandt Sons until he started his own business, Garceau Home Maintenance.  James enjoyed gardening, musky fishing, golfing, woodworking, working in his shop, refurbishing furniture and enjoying a daily breakfast at Late’s. He was always eager to help his sons with their various projects, as he could fix almost anything.

James is survived by the love of his life, Susan; three sons and their families - Ryan (partner Donovan Atkinson) Garceau, Michael (Jennifer) Garceau and Luke (Madeline) Garceau; six grandchildren - Logan, Blake, Lexi, Tanner, Delaney and Edith; sister Kay (Neil) Cegielski; brothers Robert (Pat) Garceau and Paul Garceau; and sisters- and brother-in-law: Karolyn Dahm, Mary (Wayne) Schmitt and Bob (Theresa) Dahm. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lorraine Garceau, and parents-in-law, James and Agnes Dahm.

Relatives and friends may greet the family from 4 pm to 7 pm Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S. 14th Street. A prayer service will be held at 7 pm. 

A funeral service to celebrate James’ life will be held at 10 am Thursday, March 16, 2023, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd, with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. A visitation will be held before the service at 9 am.

James will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.
