Geoline Jean MERKLINGER
<p>MERKLINGER, Geoline Jean, 95, of Tavistock passed away at The Maples Home for Seniors in Tavistock on Friday, March 10, 2023. She was born in South Easthope Township, Perth County on March 17, 1927 a daughter of the late Andrew and Rosey (Wagner) Herman. </p><p><br></p><p>Geoline was a Pharmacy Technician and had worked at Tavistock IDA Pharmacy for 22 years. She was a life long member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sebastopol-Tavistock. </p><p><br></p><p>She married George Theodore Merklinger at Sebastopol on July 30, 1949. He predeceased her on April 4, 1986. She was predeceased by her son, George Merklinger in 2019. </p><p><br></p><p>Geoline is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Michael Fidler of Woodstock; her daughter-in-law, Shirley Merklinger of Kelowna, BC; two grandsons, Geordon Fidler (Amanda Getchell), Scott Fidler (Deb Tait); great granddaughter, Mazie Fidler; several nieces, nephews and their families.</p><p><br></p><p>She was predeceased by three sisters, Marie Herman (in infancy), Marcella Herman, Verda Merklinger and her husband Frank; several “Merklinger” brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.</p><p><br></p><p>There will be no funeral home visitation or funeral service. A private family graveside service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Sebastopol-Tavistock later in the spring. </p><p><br></p><p>A special “Thank You” is extended to the Management and Staff of The Maples Home for Seniors and to Dr. Barbara Lee Cowing for the loving care given to Geoline.</p><p><br></p><p>As expressions of sympathy, donations to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sebastopol-Tavistock would be appreciated and may be made through the Francis Funeral Home by calling 519-655-2431.
