NORTH BROOKFIELD- Marion "Punkie" Florence Lewis (formerly George),75, entered into her eternal rest on March 9, 2023.

She was born in Boston, MA to Marion and Allen George on March 23, 1947. Proceeded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 25 years, Michael Chelman Lewis, her grandson DJ Smith, and her sisters Patricia Hale and Doris Richiell.

She is survived by her three children Daniel Smith, Allen Smith and Tina Tavares, her grandchildren Samantha Smith, Tiffany Tarmey, Christina Hunt , Amber Tancredi , Shannon Carpenter, Rebecca Smith, Allison Smith, Stewart Smith, John Paul Tavares and Noble Tavares, her brother Allen George Jr and her sisters Dolly Evangelista and Nancy Cole. To avoid sounding like a Biblical genealogy, we will not mention the depth of her extended family including step children, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She enjoyed a good large family joke and would have loved this reference.

Six years ago she returned to the great white North East with her husband and son and family. She enjoyed these last year’s being close to family and watching her family grow. There was nothing that she loved more than spending precious moments with her grandchildren.

Once you were in Punkie’s life, you were there forever. If you ever needed anything she was always willing to do whatever was needed to ensure that you were taken care of. She was never rich in worldly possessions, but she was always full of love. You knew where you stood with her, but you also knew that you were loved.

The funeral service will be held will be held on Thursday, March 16,2023 at 2p.m. in the Quaboag Church 175 Fiskdale Rd. Brookfield. Arrangements are under the care of Pillsbury Funeral Home 44 Gilbert St. North Brookfield.
