<p>Betty Evelyn Caple, 89 of Fairmont City, Illinois passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.</p><p><br></p><p>Betty was born on July 5, 1933 in Bath Springs, Tennessee, the daughter of the late William Arlton and Clara E. (Oliver) Adams. Betty was a wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma who had worked nearly 25 years for Nichols Net & Twine. She was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Granite City and in her free time enjoyed her days of quilting and sewing. Her greatest love was for her family, especially her great-grandchildren and will be remembered for all the special times they shared.</p><p><br></p><p>Betty is survived by and will be missed by her husband; Jeff Caple, whom she married on August 22, 1953; daughter, Deborah South of Edwardsville, Illinois; son, James Caple of Granite City, Illinois; granddaughter, Jamie Caple; great-grandchildren, Devin Doty, Mackenzie Caple, Paige Allison, Lexi Allison, Cara Sabo, Jesalin Caple; sister, Brenda McKee and numerous nieces, nephews and other close family members and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her grandsons; Matthew Sabo, Brandon Caple; brothers, Norman Adams, Larry Adams; sisters, Jo Ellen Wolfe, Rythia Crowe, Nevada Drenden.</p><p><br></p><p>In celebration of Betty’s life, visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Daniel Wilson officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights. Memorial donations are suggested to Grace Baptist Church, 2600 Edwards St. Granite City, IL 62040.</p><p><br></p>Obituary
