He passed away on August 22, 2021 in Omaha, Nebraska.Larry was a proud Vietnam Veteran. "Black Lions Sir". He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Wilma (Sohm) McDevitt; sister and brother in law, Margene (Paul) Grotz; daughter, Lisa A. McDevitt; and niece, Kim (Grotz) Folts.He is survived and will be missed by his wife, Renate (Walter) McDevitt; sons, John M. and Douglas R. (Kristi) McDevitt; granddaughter, Lauren; brother, Gordon (Julie) McDevitt; many cousins, nieces and nephew.Private graveside service with full military honors rendered by the United States Army and American Legion Post #1.
