Michael Thomas "Mickey" Marten, age 67, the son of Francis L. and Josephine M. (Flanagan) Marten, was born November 21, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska. He passed away June 21, 2019 in Omaha, Nebraska.Michael or "Mickey" as he was known to his family and friends, was a smart, kind, caring and passionate soul, who loved to read, make new friends on Facebook, use his Kindle, play the guitar, listen to talk shows hosted by the likes of Art Bell, Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck. He collected silver coins, crystals, vinyl records and had a large collection of John Wayne DVD's and VHS tapes. Most of all, Mickey loved to have spirited "discussions" about politics with all those willing to engage in a lively conversation. Beloved brother of: Patty, Eileen, Steve, Bob and Jim; uncle to Jason, Ian, Nick, Kate, Jake, Jackie and Trevor; cousin to Mary Beth and Peggy. Mickey is now in Heaven in the loving embrace of his mother, Josephine and father, Francis.Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 1, 2019 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
