She was born on August 11, 1930, in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin, to Elmer and Leona Landin. She married the love of her life, Richard ("Dick") J. Garvey in 1951, in Long, Beach, California. They eventually settled in Omaha, Nebraska, where they raised three children. Gloria worked as a secretary for many years, and retired from OPPD in 1995. Gloria loved to stay active, playing golf and bridge, working in her yard, traveling, and, most importantly, spending time with her family and friends. She loved her dogs, especially her German shepherds. She was a woman of faith. She is survived by her children, Michael (Kathy) Garvey, Omaha, Patrick (Diana) Garvey, Omaha, Mary (Charles) McKnight, Meridian, Idaho, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding Gloria in death are her husband, Dick; infant son, Richard; great-granddaughter, Madelyn Garvey; her parents; and her sisters, Arletta Thibadeau of Gillett, Wisconsin, and Ramona Tessier of Oconto Falls, Wisconsin.
