Janie Warren Smith Easterling Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Janie Warren Smith Easterling, 76, of Elderville will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with the Rev. John Gradberg and Rev. Thomas Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Danville Cemetery. The family will receive friends before services on Wednesday from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. Janie passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

Janie was born on December 10, 1946 in Lindale, TX. to Willie Horace Warren, Sr. and Lydia (Royer) Warren. Janie loved her Lord and her church family at the Go Forth Baptist Church. She loved children and cared for them in daycares and in her home. Janie enjoyed gardening, collecting various things, and shopping estate sales. She really enjoyed getting bargains and “saving” her husband money by not buying at full price. She always dressed to impress whether she was running errands or going to worship. She loved visiting with people and traveling, adored her family, and especially enjoyed her time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her beloved dogs.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Smith; son, Jake Hester; step-daughter, Cheri Easterling Moore; and brother, Kenneth Warren.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dale Easterling of Elderville; daughter Tina and Thomas Brown of Wylie, TX; brother, Willie “Bill” Warren of Lindale, TX; step-children, Clayton Smith of La Grange, TX; Christi and Doug Wilson of San Antonio, TX, David and Amanda Easterling of White Oak, TX, and Cari and Matt Shosh of Salem, OR; grandchildren, Hannah and Andrew Rodriguez, Natalie and Abel Flores, Courtney Brown, Nathanael Brown, Wesley Brown, Marcee Brown, and Bethany Grace Brown, Jonathan Moore, Hayden Shosh, and Ethan Easterling; great-grandchildren, Carson, Griffin, Sullivan, and McKinnon Rodriguez. Janie will also be profoundly missed by her many extended family, friends, and church family.
