Sarah Jo Hammond Obituary

PITTSFIELD-Sarah Jo Hammond, 47, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 9, 2023, at her dad’s home in Burnham.

She was born on January 6, 1976, in New Britain, CT, the daughter of George and Carole (Huff) Goodridge. She graduated from MCI with the class of 1994 and owned and operated the Redemption Center in Pittsfield for over 15 years.

Sarah Jo was a loving and caring person, always putting others first. She enjoyed walking, being in the sunshine, and going to the beach. She absolutely loved her make-up and getting her nails painted. She had a soft spot for her Shih Tzus, Gizmo and Sadie Elizabeth, and liked to watch the dolphins. She had a way with words and loved to write and was very fond of butterflies because they always reminded her of her mom.

She is survived by her husband, Eric Hammond; son, Michael Mitchell; her twin daughters: McKayla Mitchell and McKenna Mitchell; daughter, Miyha-Quinn Hammond; father and stepmother, George and Roselie Goodridge; siblings: Melissa Johnson and husband Eric, Heather Goodridge and companion Nate, Rachel Goodridge, and AJ Hanson; nephew, Danny Johnson and wife Stephanie and their children, Kimber and Wyatt George; two best friends, Cammie Jemery and Lori Caruso; and Jake, who was like a son.

She was predeceased by her mom, Carole Goodridge; and her beloved dog, Carole Ann.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Huff Cemetery, Mount Road, Burnham.
