Charles Silvey Obituary

Charles Silvey, 87, beloved Husband, Father, and Grandpa was called to his Eternal resting place on March 11th, 2023. He entered this world on December 16th, 1935 at Seminole, OK, born to Loran and Virgie Silvey.

 After a short time living in Ceres, OK Charles and family moved to Billings, OK where he attended Billings Public Schools until his graduation in 1955. After attending one semester of college at Oklahoma A&M, now OSU, he joined the United States Navy where he served our country for four years. Upon his return from the Navy, Charles married his high school sweetheart Dianne Ehlers on January 25th, 1959 in Billings, OK where they have resided their entire 64 years of marriage. Charles spent his entire adult life farming and ranching. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, eating catfish, and coyote hunting with his friends.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Dianne Silvey of the home, daughter Charla Therrien (Scott) of Marshall, OK, two sons, Gaylon Silvey (Molly) of Billings, OK, and Tracy Silvey (Melinda) of Garber, OK. Grandchildren left behind are Laci Mier (Arthur), Karim Kokojan (Josh), Brandon Casteel (Lindsay), Joshua Silvey, Sabrah Bierig (Jay), and Derek Silvey (Rachel). His is also survived by his 11 great-grandchildren, Ali Mier, Gabe Mier, Kason Kokojan, Layne Kokojan, Tinslee Casteel, Wiley Casteel, Madalee Casteel, Jazmen Silvey, Braxton Bierig, Baleigh Bierig, and Knox Silvey.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Loran Silvey, Virgie and Vernon Larimer, one son, Terry Silvey, an infant brother, and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Billings, OK. Interment will follow at the Billings Union Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Billings, OK on Tuesday, March 14th, 2023 from 3 – 7 p.m. for visitation.
