Roger L. Vance Obituary

Roger L. Vance, 82, of Main Street, Manns Choice, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 10, 2023, at home.

Mr. Vance was born on June 19. 1940 in Cumberland Valley Twp., son of the late Edgar L. and Lena Mae (Miller) Vance.

On September 16, 1963, Roger married Eva Patricia "Pat" (Imler) Vance.

Along with his wife Pat he is survived by son- Jacob Charles husband of Shawne (Rogish) Vance, Buckhannon, VW; two granddaughters- Chelsea and Amanda, 4 great grandchildren- Savannah, Olivia, Jakob and Arabella and sister- Dora Kennedy, Cumberland, MD. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Peggy Noel, Gloria Shaffer and Doris Griffith and brothers- Walter Vance and Perry Vance.

Roger was a retired truck driver.

He was a member of Christ Victory Church, Manns Choice.

Roger loved music, he enjoyed playing guitar and singing and many would say he had a voice like Johnny Cash. Roger was a member of the band Biscuits and Gravy.

Roger was a hard-working and amazing husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all.

A service will be held at Christ Victory Church on March 31, 2023, at 2 PM with Pastors Pat and Lynn Murphy officiating.

Interment will be at Schellsburg Cemetery.
