The Gardens She Grew

In Loving Memory of Rosemary Ellen Cole

Born in Minnesota in 1954, one of six, Rosemary Ellen Gaumitz.

Blonde hair, blue eyes and a thumb that was green.

During her life, she learned how to make sunshine during storms.

Plants, animals and many other things grew in her gardens.

Alongside her sister, she cultivated her own little Eden.

Roses, succulents and lupine blossomed in her company.

Her loyal companion, Cindi, helped her grow furry friends.

Hounds, pups and cats thrived under their care.

When she encountered bitterground, she made it sweet.

Marshmallows, gumdrops and licorice whips crowded her cabinets.

Like the flowers in her yard, she was dressed for any occasion.

Leisure, travel and work at the state inspired an array of outfits.

In her niece and nephew, she planted seeds of inspiration.

Boldness, class and a love for takeout were shared with them.

Just like her hands worked soil, they also made art.

Beads, canvas and thread came to life under her guidance.

On March 4, 2023, her time blooming was complete.

Forever remembered, like the gardens she grew, Rosemary Ellen Cole.

Survived by wife Cindi Cole and their fur babies (Baggins, Evie, Bobo and Herschel), as well as siblings Kathy Brown, Julia Johnson, Diane Buchanan, Ruthanne Moser and Rick Gaumitz.
