Dr. Angelique Renee Mayo was born on April 28, 1970, to Darnell and Inez Amos Mayo. She departed this world Saturday, March 4, 2023, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Angelique was known and loved by family and friends as Angie and to the professional world as Dr. Mayo.  She was a very beautiful and vibrant young woman who had the voice of an angel and a smile to lighten any the whole room.   Angelique accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior during her Sunshine Band days, under the leadership of her spiritual father, the late Bishop John T. Dupree.

Dr. Angelique Renee Mayo was a Professor of Business at East Allen University and a former Adjunct Professor at Ivy Tech Community College in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  She also served as a professor of business for Indiana Institute of Technology, teaching Business Administration, Human Resources, and Consumer Behavior.

Angelique received higher education at Anderson University (BA, 1994), University of Saint Francis (MBA, 2009), and Indiana Institute of Technology (Ph.D., 2017).  Her religious education, mission activities, and Puerto Rico Jurisdiction Executive Board experience came as a devotee to her pastor, prelate, brother, and friend, the Right Reverend, Bishop Elton J. Amos.

Angelique was preceded in death, by her father, Deacon Darnell Mayo, and a brother, Ronald Franks.  At her call to rest, she leaves to mourn her mother, Evangelist Missionary Inez Amos Mayo, brothers, Luther (Edna L.) Amos, Darnell Vanness Mayo, Jr, Carnell and Donald Franks, all of Fort Wayne. And Bishop Elton (Edna E.) Amos, MD MPH, of Indianapolis, IN and Raleigh, NC.  She was beloved by two nieces, Katrina Amos and Lauren Amos, and four nephews, Elton (Renita) Amos, Jamar Amos, Mark Amos, and Alexander (Jojuana) Mayo. Her special and undying love was for five great-nephews, Elton Amos III, Tylan Amos, Jayden Amos, Anthony Amos, and JaShawn Harris. She also embraced one great-niece, Renaya, and a god-son Xavion Williams along with a great host of cousins, family and friends. Angie’s social circle was completed by a loving friend, Jean Ricot Louis. These all made up her great community of love and fellowship.  She will be truly missed.
