<p>Age 89. Died Wednesday March 8, 2023, in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow. Born September 9, 1933, in Malay Falls she was a daughter of the late Orestus and Alveretta (MacDonald) Russell. Phyllis was a home- maker all her life. She loved music, especially going to the jamborees. She loved to cook and bake and was known for her delicious homemade bread. Phyllis enjoyed playing crib, knitting, bowling, darts and baseball. She was an avid deer hunter, once shooting a deer on the run with a .44 magnum. Phyllis was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by sons, Fraser (Sheila), Chezzetcook, Stew- art (Ann), Moser River; grandchildren, Alicia and Sarah; great-grandson, Wesley; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband, Harold; son, Pear- son; stepfather, Lloyd Laing; sisters, Wilma Cruickshank, Helen MacLane, Ivy MacFarlane, Lillian Russell, Clarice Josey Cruickshank, Wanda Jack, Carol Rudolph Oxner; brothers, Lloyd, Earl, Clyde, Elmer, Kenneth, Graham. Visitation will be held Sun- day March 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in DS Crowell &amp; Son Funeral Home 22558 High- way 7, Sheet Harbour. Funeral service will be held Monday March 13 at 2 p.m. in St. James United Church, Lochaber Mines Rev. Allan Lynk officiating. Family flowers only.
