Curtis Albert Lampe

<p>Curtis Albert Lampe, 67, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was born on March 18, 1955, at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City, Nebraska, the second child of Albert Henry and Hazel Marie (Broady) Lampe.&nbsp; He was raised in Johnson, Nebraska, where he attended school and graduated from Johnson-Brock High School with the class of 1973.&nbsp; After graduation, he worked at Campbell’s service station near Tecumseh, pumping gas and checking oil. </p><p>Curtis attended tech school and received a degree in Information Technology; he began his career at King Radio Corporation in Olathe, Kansas.&nbsp; While living in Ottawa, he took police training and became a reserve officer.&nbsp; For the remainder of his career, he used his IT degree and worked in Information Systems as a Systems Engineer for various companies and contracted independently to write software.&nbsp; Curtis worked in Nebraska, then Massachusetts and California before returning to Nebraska and settling in Lincoln.&nbsp; He retired after receiving a lung cancer (never a smoker) diagnosis in 2015. </p><p>Curtis was baptized on June 12, 1955, by the Rev. F. K. Kumpf.&nbsp; The family belonged to Zion Lutheran Church, and Curtis went to Sunday School there, affirmed his baptism on Palm Sunday, March 30, 1969 (the Rev. Robert Schneck), and was a member of Luther League.&nbsp; He transferred membership to Seventh-Day Adventist church in 1985.&nbsp; He traveled to Haiti in October 1986 and served a two-year mission trip there in the Port-au-Prince area. </p><p>An IT guy, Curtis enjoyed all technology and also liked bicycling, shooting, his blue Corvette, and LOVED the color blue. </p><p>Curtis completed his baptismal journey on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the Bryan LGH Medical Center West in Lincoln, Nebraska, having reached the earthly age of sixty-seven years, eleven months, and eighteen days.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents Albert in 1990 and Hazel in 2000, grandparents Henry and Anna (Bruggemann) Lampe, and Henry and Anna (Schroeder) Broady, cousins, and all of his aunts and uncles. </p><p>Curtis is survived by his sister Barbara Vogel and her husband Vernon of Chariton, Iowa, and many cousins and friends. </p><p>Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Johnson Cemetery in Johnson, Nebraska, with Pastor Terry Bock officiating. &nbsp;Casual attire is requested for those attending.&nbsp; A time for fellowship at Zion Lutheran Church parish hall will follow the graveside service. </p><p>In lieu of flowers/plants, memorial contributions may be given to any organization that serves the Johnson community or a charity of the donor’s choice. </p><p>Honorary pallbearers will be Rick “Tex” Whittlesey, Jeff Broady, Tim Brewer, Roger Grable, and Tim Holthus. </p><p>Condolences may be shared online&nbsp;@&nbsp;www.hallfuneral.net </p><p>Services entrusted to Hall Funeral Chapel, 707 15th&nbsp;Street, Auburn, NE&nbsp;68305 (402) 274-3131 </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p>
