Kathryn M. "Katie" Courville Obituary
The family of Kathryn M. "Katie" Courville, age 78, announces that she passed away peacefully, February 16, 2023, in Saint Albans. She was born in Balston Spa, July 19, 1944 to Nicholas and Pansy (Stockwell) Wagner. Kathryn married Louis Courville, November 9, 1968 in Winooski. Katie enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She loved crocheting, sewing, and reading. Katie is remembered for her love of decorating her home. She loved fake flowers, and will be remembered for her "plastic, dusty thumb".
She is survived by five children, Nick Courville (Kristina Olson) of Colchester, VT, William Courville (Catherine O'Brien) of Queensbury, NY, Heidi Kobera (John) of Sheldon, VT, Corey Sordiff (Jason Comes) of Middlebury, VT, and Kenneth Sordiff (Amanda Renaudette) of St. Albans; seven grandchildren who were the apples of her eye, Steven Kobera (Haileigh Chagnon), Christopher Kobera (Gabby Sheeley), Nickolas Comes, Shawn Comes, Andrew Comes, her one and only granddaughter, Lillee Marie Comes, and Michael Sordiff; and one brother, Kenneth Van Wagner (Patti) of Mesa, AZ, and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her beloved feline companion Snicker-doo.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Louis, and one sister, Shirley Worth.
A Remembrance Gathering will be held with her family in the spring.
