Gerald Howard Townsend, aka, Gerry was born on July 25, 1939 in Seattle, WA. He died in Carson City, NV on January 29, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Violet-Elizabeth (Betty) and 8 children, 20 grandchildren and 25 great children. Also surviving him is his sister, Susan, nephews, a niece and a few cousins. Gerry served in the United States Marine Corp for 4 years. His duty stations were Camp Pendleton, CA and China Lake, CA with brief assignments in South Korea and Okinawa. He worked as a truck driver for several trucking companies including Consolidated Freightways before they closed their doors in 2002. He retired in 2005.

Gerry had several passions which included riding his motorcycle throughout California and Northern Nevada. He was an active member both in the Sacramento area and in Northern Nevada with the Patriot Guard Riders, standing in a flag line for funeral services and Welcome Homes. In 2017 he had the privilege of going on an Honor Flight Nevada trip to Washington DC visiting numerous memorials.
