<p>WATCH LIVE FUNERAL STREAM HERE (11:00 AM MDT) </p><p>Pat Embley passed away&nbsp;February 10, 2023 at her home in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Born Patricia Ann Jones on 4 August 1938 in Cedar City, Utah to Elton Lunt and Thelma Esplin Jones, Pat grew up with a deep appreciation for the beauty of the aspen forests and red rocks of Southern Utah. Her father’s job with the Park Service gave their family many opportunities to visit and explore National Parks. Her favorite spot on earth was the Jones’ family cabin near Cedar Breaks. </p><p>She met John L. Embley, the love of her life, when they were both working summer jobs at Grand Canyon. They married 15 March 1957 in Gunnison, Utah and were sealed a year later in the Manti, Utah Temple. She and John lived in Utah while John finished his university studies, then raised their family in San Jose, California. John and Pat later moved to Wilmington, North Carolina where they lived for more than a decade before retiring to Pleasant Grove. </p><p>Pat was a woman of great faith, a descendant of pioneers and early converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Throughout her life, she found great joy in service and considered it a privilege. Pat particularly loved her callings with the children and youth and served in a variety of ward and stake Young Women and Relief Society leadership callings. Pat taught religion as a Seminary teacher in San Jose, California and in Wilmington, North Carolina. She treasured her time as a temple worker in the baptistry of the Mount Timpanogos Temple. She and John served together as missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in both Newfoundland and Australia. </p><p>Pat was an accomplished seamstress and quilter, an avid reader, and a life-long learner of many subjects but particularly as a student of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She loved spending time with her family. </p><p>Pat asked that special thanks be expressed to her physician, Dr. Von Welch, for his friendship and good care. </p><p>Pat is survived by her husband John, children Paul (Lise) of Minden, Nevada; Janet (Jeff) Beck of Pleasant Grove, Utah; Kristen (Larry) DeMoise of Buckeye, Arizona; Jennifer (Dave) Demma of Alpine, Utah; Karen (Scott) Farnsworth of Westlake Village, California; Ann (David) Haws of Collierville, Tennessee; and John (Susy) of Chandler, Arizona; 31 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Gary, Scot, Jim, and Dorothy; son-in-law Jerry Jensen, and three great-grandchildren. </p><p>Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Pleasant Grove Utah North Field Stake Center, 105 West 1800 North, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:00 - 10:30 am. prior to the services.
