Robert James Marx

<p>MARX, ROBERT J., “BOB”, 91, passed away peacefully at his home in Somers Point on </p><p>January 21, 2023. He was born in Somers Point, NJ and grew up on Fredericksburg Avenue in </p><p>Ventnor, NJ. He graduated from Atlantic City High School and attended Peirce School of </p><p>Business in Philadelphia. He lived in Somers Point for the past 71 years. Bob proudly served in </p><p>the United States Navy and Reserves, worked for the Atlantic City Electric Company for 35 </p><p>years and served as a New Jersey State Marine Police Officer in Atlantic City. After retiring, </p><p>Bob assisted and supported his wife with the day-to-day operations for T.C. Marx Custom </p><p>Draperies in Marmora, NJ. </p><p>For many years in the 1960s, Bob was a coach for the Somers Point Little League. He loved </p><p>everything about the game of football and his Philadelphia Eagles – Fly Eagles Fly! </p><p>Bob inherited his father's wood building skills and enjoyed playing golf, sitting on the beach with his </p><p>feet in the water, boating, fishing, traveling and everything in between that involved spending </p><p>time with his family. He instilled the sense of adventure, traveling, and the love of the great </p><p>outdoors in each and every one of his children at an early age. His love for fresh bread and other</p><p>baked goods, especially snicker doodle cookies was off the charts. Bob always loved a good </p><p>cold Beck’s beer and enjoyed watching Sherlock Holmes movies.</p><p>Predeceased by his parents, Theodore J. Marx and Gladys (Findeisen) Marx and his wife of 61 </p><p>years, Theresa C. Marx. He is survived by his children; Robert (Betsy) of Mays Landing, </p><p>Theodore (Sue) of Mays Landing, Melinda (David) Battistelli of Mays Landing, Shawn </p><p>(Stephanie) of Petersburg, Theresa Marx of Millington, MD, Josephine Fox (Erik) of The </p><p>Netherlands and Cynthia (John) Stephano of Seaville. Also surviving are his grandchildren; </p><p>Jason, Andrew, Matthew, John, Christopher, Marina, Ariel, Samantha, Justin, Mina, Victoria, </p><p>Philip, Julie, David, and Andrea as well as fourteen great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Gloria </p><p>Demi and brother-in-law Joseph Salbego and many cousins, nephews and a niece.</p><p>Bob was an incredibly kind and gentle person with a glowing smile! He will be forever loved </p><p>and deeply missed by his children, grandchildren and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing</p><p>him. The family was so blessed and grateful for his live-in aids, especially Peter. </p><p>Visitation will be held at Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 606 Shore Road, Somers Point,</p><p>NJ on Friday, January 27th from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, followed by a Catholic Mass at 11 AM. </p><p>Arrangements and condolences by: www.adams-perfect.com</p>
