Bessie Lawson
<p>Bessie Lawson, age 71 of Jacksboro passed away peacefully at her home on Friday January 20, 2023. Bessie was a member of East Side Wesleyan Church on South Cumberland Avenue. She enjoyed watching the Tennessee Vols, a true diehard van. She will be dearly missed. </p><p>She is preceded in death by her husband Manuel Mitchell Lawson; parents, Fred and Pearl Hunley; brothers William Turk Hunley, Don Hunley, and Paul James Hunley; sisters, Sue Watson and Anna Mae Webb; daughter-in-law, Katherine Renea Damron; grandchildren, James Keith Damron and Adam Lee Brewer; great grandchildren, Eli and Dakota Hislope. </p><p>Bessie is survived by her sons, Bobby Gene Damron II, James Wilton Damron and Terri of LaFollette, Michael Genton of Kentucky, daughter Hope Ann Genton of KY; brothers Clarance Hunly of West Liberty, KY, Carl Hunley of Dayton, OH; sister, Margaret Browning of LaFollette; 20 grandchildren, and 7 great- grandchildren; close friends, Christie Michael Damron and Samantha Aline Huckaby both of LaFollette; her ex-husband, Bob Damron of Shelby Gap, KY; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. </p><p>The family will receive friends on Friday January 27, 2023 from 11 AM to 1 PM in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral service to follow at 1 PM.
