Beverley Ann Ares Obituary

Beverley Ann (Kolesar) Ares

For everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.

With broken hearts, we said goodbye to our beautiful mother, grandma, sister, auntie, sister-in-law and friend surrounded by her loving children on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 and is now reunited with her beloved husband, Normand, in heaven.

She is predeceased by her darling husband Normand Ares and her mom and dad (George and Hazel Kolesar), her sister Catherine Louise (Kolesar) Riley and baby sister Elizabeth and baby brother Michael.

Leaving to share in memories and laughter are her son Richard (grandson Alexander), daughter Elizabeth (Rodney Mitchell) and granddaughters Amelia Mitchell, and Natalie Mitchell.

Also leaving brothers: Gerald Kolesar (Cheryl), his children: Nathan, Joshua and Cheryl; Trevor Kolesar (Susan) and their daughter Becky; Sisters: Bonnie Saunders (Jeff), daughter, Jessica (Vlado); Holly Sim; Nancy Bishop (Wayne); children: Michael Skanes (Jill) Paige Christopher Skanes, Katie Elliott (Doug); daughter, Samantha and Kelly Kolesar (Paul), children: Zachary Porter and Louisa Jane Porter; Catherine’s (Kay’s) children: Jennifer Riley Olsen (Tony), children, Chelsea (Matt) and Jake Olsen and James Riley (Cindy), children, Grace and Jack.

Leaving her best friend Pat Jones and friends at the women’s tea group and friends at Topsail United Church.

Leaving also her friends in the Deaf community and especially in Deaf Ministries.

Beverley was a devoted wife to Normand and a loving momma and grandma. She lived her life with joy, faith and thankfulness. Beverley grew up in Winnipeg but was overjoyed to move with her family to Newfoundland in 1976 to be near her mom, dad and sisters. Her entire life, she worked tirelessly to do for others… from teaching Sunday school, volunteering in community food banks, helping with church events, and found a calling in her role as pastoral care worker at the Newfoundland School for the Deaf and Deaf Ministries.

Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday, January 26th, 2023 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will take place from Topsail United Church on Friday, January 27th, 2023 at 2:00pm. The service will be livestreamed, to attend virtually please follow the link posted on the main page of Barrett's website.

Special thank you to the incredible staff at the Palliative Care Unit at the Miller Centre for your care and compassion over the past few weeks.

Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations can be made to a local food bank or to the Palliative Care Cuddle bed program. Do a random act of kindness in her memory… she would like that.

“I’ll be waiting on the far side banks of Jordan, drawing pictures in the sand.”
