Ann Marie Neuhaus, age 49, of Carmichael passed away on July 5th. Ann was born February 29, 1968, a leap year baby, in Fort Collins, Colorado and from age 4 grew up in Sonoma. She lived in faith with grace, devotion and humility that was a gift for all to witness. She married the love of her life, Eric Neuhaus, in July of 1991 and they were blessed with two beautiful children, Rachel, and Elijah. Ann loved her family and being a mom more than words can say. Ann loved God, life, family, and learning. She had a passion for achieving her personal best in every aspect of her life. All who knew her admired how she lived everyday with love, joy, and gratitude to God for all the gifts in her life.

Ann graduated from Justin-Siena High School (1986), where she played varsity basketball all four years and subsequently attended Santa Clara University on a full academic/basketball scholarship, graduating in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Ann completed medical school at UCSF and began her surgical residency at UC Davis in 1994. Following her six-year residency at UCD, Ann worked as General Surgeon at Kaiser South Sacramento. She completed a one-year Laparoscopic Surgical Fellowship in London in 2005, returning to her surgical career at Kaiser South Sacramento for a total of 15 years.

She is survived by her husband, Eric Neuhaus, daughter, Rachel Therese, son, Elijah Lee, stepmother, Honoruth Corbett, brother, Jim Corbett (Beth), sister, Karen Woods (Keith), mother-in-law, Olga Neuhaus, sister-in-law Karen Duck (Chuck), brother-in-law, Kurt Neuhaus (Diane), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Corbett, and her father, James J. Corbett, DVM.
