<p>Paul A. Hayduk, Sr.</p><p>Human Resource Specialist</p><p><br></p><p>Paul A. Hayduk, Sr. of Gaithersburg, MD passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and two sons on January 13, 2023.</p><p><br></p><p>Paul Hayduk was born in Charleroi, PA on July 29, 1938 to Mary (Semancik) Hayduk/Miller and John Hayduk who predeceased him as also did his stepfather, Lloyd E. Miller.</p><p><br></p><p>Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Susan (Wolfe) Hayduk; sons, Paul Jr., and wife Karen, and Matthew E. Hayduk and wife Jesse; grandchildren, Hannah, Heather and Haden of Oregon; sister, Frances and husband Jack Koschalk; nephew Douglas and his children, Elliott, Bella and Cecilia of Maryland, and niece Nicole and husband Greg Adametz and their children Grace and Gavin of Pennsylvania.</p><p><br></p><p>Upon graduation from Bellmar High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard, serving on the USCG cutter Spencer, Staten Island, NY and the Agassiz, Cape May, NJ. Following military service, Paul worked at the Army Map Service/Defense Mapping Agency for 34 years. As a Human Resource Specialist, he managed hiring/retention for various special emphasis programs, such as the disabled, veterans, minorities and women programs for which he received numerous awards including the Defense Mapping Agency (DMA) Meritorious Service Award.</p><p><br></p><p>Upon retirement from DMA, Paul worked in the Career Centers at The Montgomery College campuses. He volunteered for several years as facilitator for the St. Rose of Lima Parish, New Hope Job Support Group and the Staffing Alliance of Maryland Employers. He was actively involved with the Seneca Valley High School Booster Club and&nbsp; many local sports and community organizations. Paul also served in various leadership roles including president and vice president and on the board of directors of the Association of Mapping Seniors organization.</p><p><br></p><p>His greatest joy was his family, assisting students in their career search, fishing and gardening.</p><p><br></p><p>A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 11701 Clopper Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20878 on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 10:30 am.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the North Central Forest Landowners Association, Attention Mark Miller, NCFLA Treasurer, P.O. Paul A. Hayduk, Sr. of Gaithersburg, MD passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and two sons on January 13, 2023.
