Martyn Hands

Our family is heart-broken to announce the unexpected death of Martyn Hands on January 17, 2023 in Mobile, AL. Martyn was born on February 10, 1959 in Shirebrook, England but later moved to the United States and became a resident in 1975. Martyn served 3 years in the Army and devoted his passion in his career in Aviation with ST Engineering. Martyn leaves behind his loving wife, Kelly Hands, that he was married to for 26 years, his 3 children, Paula Monaghan, Garrit Burns and Devon Hands as well as 5 grandchildren, Cameron, Aiden, Amaya, Jordan and Ethan. Martyn was well-loved by his family, friends, co-workers and community. Martyn’s hobbies included spending time with family, swimming with his grandson, Ethan, riding his Harley with friends and doing crossword puzzles every morning and evening. Martyn will be remembered for being a positive, selfless, fiery spirit that loved deeply and will never be forgotten.

Please join us on January 30th to honor the life of Martyn Hands at Ascension Funeral Group located at 1016 Hillcrest Road, Mobile, AL 36695. A gathering will be held from 4pm – 8pm to share memories with a service at 6 pm.
