Carol Jean Maxwell

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Carol Jean Maxwell, 69, of Jacksonville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Pleasant Valley Holiness Church, 2580 Pleasant Valley Road, Jacksonville, AL. Officiating Carol’s service will be Rev. Bruce Johnson, Rev. Harold Payne, and Rev. Justin Bufford. Burial will follow in Edgemont Cemetery in Anniston.

Preceding Carol in death are her husband, William Maxwell; her parents, Charles L. Warfield and Ruth Haynes Warfield; her brother, Thomas Warfield; and her step-mother, Mary "Patsy" Warfield, who helped Carol's father raise her, after her Mother passed away. 

Those left to cherish the memory of Carol include her sister, Janice Bufford (Steve); her nephews, Stephen Paul Bufford, Justin Lee Bufford (Kelli), and William Dawson; her nieces, Alexi Maxwell and Kelli Maxwell; one great-nephew, Levi Justin Bufford; and a host of extended family.

The Lord dealt with Carol’s heart at a young age. She repented and Jesus saved her. Carol was a devoted Christian, who met her Lord and Savior, face to face, on Saturday, January 14, 2023. She was a pleasant and caring person and enjoyed reading her KJV Bible, books about end-time prophecy and calling friends and relatives. Carol was happy to get pictures of her nephews, whom she dearly loved. She was a wonderful sister, was light-hearted and she enjoyed telling jokes. Carol liked Betty’s Bar-B-Q, Capt’n D’s, Jack’s, and Burger King. She enjoyed spending time with her family as well as enjoying her sister’s family’s cat. Carol will be greatly missed, but it is good beyond words to know that God’s grace is greater than our grief, and there is hope beyond the grave!
