<p>Edward Efaw, 92, passed away on January 17, 2023. He was born on September 5, 1930, in Mannington, West Virginia to the late Clarence and Stella Efaw.&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Edward worked as a mechanic and loved bluegrass music.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was well known as “Beanpole” a legendary bluegrass musician and promoter.&nbsp;&nbsp;Above all, he was a faithful and devoted Christian and a member of the Massillon Church of Christ. He was greatly admired and loved by all. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Besides his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dora; sons-in-law, Randy Harper and Don Edgell. He is survived by his children, Larry (Lisa) Efaw, Doris Efaw, Shirley Edgell, Carris (Carol) Efaw, Patti (Bill) Grass, and Lola Efaw; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; as well as many other family and friends. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>Funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 with Rick Kelly officiating.&nbsp;&nbsp;Family and friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8 P.M.&nbsp;&nbsp;Interment will take place at East Liberty Cemetery. Obituary

Edward Efaw, 92, passed away on January 17, 2023. He was born on September 5, 1930, in Mannington, West Virginia to the late Clarence and Stella Efaw. 

 

Edward worked as a mechanic and loved bluegrass music.  He was well known as “Beanpole” a legendary bluegrass musician and promoter.  Above all, he was a faithful and devoted Christian and a member of the Massillon Church of Christ. He was greatly admired and loved by all.
