Rick (Martin) Timmerman Acton, Ontario Obituary

Rick (Martin) Timmerman

Rick was called to his heavenly home in the morning of Jan 12, 2023. Rick was born in Holland in 1935 before immigrating to Canada with his family when he was 16 years old. He met his wife Hilda at a “young peoples” hay ride during an event organized by their church, Bethel CRC. They married in 1963 and shared their life with four children who he adored. Rick and Hilda rented a farmhouse north of Acton on Hwy 25 where they stayed and raised their family for 42 years. Rick and Hilda loved camping every summer with the kids. Rick worked at Rockwell International for 30 years retiring at the age of 55, to get away from the factory life and began to work with his son landscaping. Rick and Hilda spent many years enjoying the Florida sunshine, making many new friends and being involved in their new community. They eventually moved to Rockwood to enjoy their later years where they were closer to family. Rick had a great love for games, gardening, tinkering, and cutting grass. He forever kept himself busy fixing things around the property and enjoying the outdoors. Rick will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Beloved husband of Hilda (Jansen) and would have been married for 60 years on March 1.
