John Cecil Crosby (JC)

John Cecil Crosby, 67, born June 18, 1950, in Baxley GA to John E. and Arlene W. Crosby, passed away at his home in Mesquite NV, surrounded by his family on November 2, 2017. On September 18, 1971, he married the love of his life, Lois (Lou) Walton. Together they raised three children: Lony, Shawnee, and Ashley. John served 32 years in the US Army, 27 of those being with the 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne). After retiring from his accomplished career with the US Army, he dedicated 10 years to the U of U ROTC program. He loved hunting, camping, and listening to country music. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle. John was a friend to all who knew him and to say he will be missed is an understatement. John is survived by his wife Lou, daughters Shawnee (Jacob) and Ashley (Tanner), 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, sisters Cheryl (Steve) and Alice (Gil), Brother David (Nyla), numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, son Lony, brothers Eddie and Ronnie. Funeral will be held Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:00 am at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S), South Jordan UT. Viewing will be held Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 5-7 pm and 1 hour prior to funeral services. Interment at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 S. 1700 W. Bluffdale, UT.
