Della Valentina (Keller) Sargent, 78, passed away peacefully, Monday, November 6, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family. Della was born on February 14, 1939, in Kulm, North Dakota to Ruth (Jerke) Keller and Oscar Keller. The family later moved to Philip, South Dakota, where she graduated from high school. She continued her education at Open Bible College in Des Moines, Iowa, where she met the love of her life, Jerry Sargent. After graduation, they were married in Philip, South Dakota on May 27, 1961. Della and Jerry raised four children in the Kansas City area. She was a stay-at-home mom and later took jobs with AT&T, Robert’s Pool Service, and Liberty Tax Service until she retired in spring 2016. Della’s biggest joy in life was the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They often called her for an open ear and advice. Della had a big heart, was giving and always smiling. Faith and family were most important to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Oscar Keller. Survivors include her husband Jerry Sargent of Tulsa, Oklahoma, her children Jeff Sargent and his spouse Steve of Middleway, West Virginia; Sheila Devereux of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Sherri Fosberg and her partner Holly of Safety Harbor, Florida; and Fred Sargent and his spouse Lori of Charles Town, West Virginia; two sisters, Jean Weller of Kadoka, South Dakota and June Hout and her husband Arvin of Wall, South Dakota; along with 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at Vineyard Church; 12300 NW Arrowhead Trafficway, Kansas City, Missouri 64165; telephone (816) 734-8100; on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 2:00 pm.
