Effie M Stewart
After a brief battle with Lymphoma, Effie Marie Stewart, 73 years young has returned home to her Heavenly Father on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Ok surrounded by family and friends. Her devotion to family and her firm belief in the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior supported her in the struggles and ultimately gave her peace.<br /><br />Effie, was born to the late Tom and Beatrice Elliott on April 29, 1943 in Calvin, Oklahoma.<br /><br />She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Beatrice Elliot, brother: Clifford Elliott and sister: Ellen Mantooth.<br /><br />She attended and graduated from Calvin Public School in 1961.<br /><br />She is survived by her husband of 45 years: Carroll Stewart, 2 sons: James and wife Janet Stewart of Rock Springs, WY, Larry and wife Tina Stewart of Ada, Ok, grandsons: Christian Stewart of Laramie, WY, Jordan Stewart and wife Mariah of Green River WY, Zandon and Zeagan Stewart of Ada, Ok, several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.<br /><br />Effie was a gentle soul who found the time for anyone in need, a loving mother grandmother, and devoted wife. Truly a woman of faith, loved Christian music and the Lord. She had a love for singing and was gifted with the ability to play piano. She found solace in singing beautiful lyrics that were evident of her faith in Jesus. She loved attending church. Effie grew up in a large family and loved family reunions, needlepoint, making beaded jewelry, cooking and was a very proud mother.<br /><br />Funeral services to celebrate the life of Effie Stewart will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Stonewall, Oklahoma with Pastor Richard Dickerson officiating.
