<p>AKWESASNE – Carol A. Smoke, 60, of 25 Smoke Road, unexpectedly passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022 at her home.</p><p><br></p><p>Carol was born on May 21, 1962 in Malone, the daughter of the late Harriett Gray and chosen daughter of Theodore “Teddy” Jacobs. She attended Mohawk and Salmon River Central School and graduated from General Vanier in Cornwall. On September 7, 1985, she married Mitchel A. Smoke at St. Regis Catholic Church.</p><p><br></p><p>Carol worked for a time at the Homemakers Senior Home in St. Regis for a short time. She enjoyed doing ceramics, playing pool, cards, and bingo.</p><p><br></p><p>Carol is survived by her husband, Mitch; her son, Alan Gray of Akwesasne; her chosen brother-in-law, Brandon Smoke; her grandchild, Skylar Gray; chosen grandchild, Koral Mitchell; her sister, Debbie Square of Akwesasne; her brothers, Theodore Square of Akwesasne and Fred Square of Six Nations; her father and mother-in-law, Louie and Ruth Smoke; her sister-in-law, Becky Smoke; and many nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Arthur Yops, William “Billy Bottles” Yops, and Ronnie Hill Square; and her brother-in-law, Mark Smoke.</p><p><br></p><p>Friends may call at the home of Louie and Ruth Smoke, 33 Smoke Road, beginning at 6:00 PM Wednesday until 2:00 PM Friday when funeral services will be held at the home.</p><p><br></p>
