Massena: George R. Trippany, 73, formerly of Massena, peacefully passed away on December 28, 2022 at Elderwood Nursing Home in Lake Placid.

George was born May 28, 1949 in Massena, New York, the son of the late George R. and Anna (Hammill) Trippany. He graduated from Holy Family High School in 1967 and later married Carolyn MacCaull on May 1, 1971 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Ogdensburg. George worked at Reynolds Metals as an Anode Tender retiring after 30 years.

After graduation from college, George played semi-pro football for the Warriors. He was a lover of all sports. A coach and mentor to many Massena athletes, especially high school basketball and softball. Always on the sidelines for all of his children's sporting events, but continued to be an avid supporter of his grandkids as well. George enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Massena Country Club.

George is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his children, George R. Trippany of Bloomington, IN, Nicole (Rodney) Broadwell of Brewerton, NY, Suzanne (David) King of Richland, MI and Danielle (Andrew) Vincelette of Rouses Point; five grandchildren, Rylee Broadwell, Andrew and Elizabeth King, Zoe and Ava Vincelette.

He was predeceased by his parents.

There will be no services at this time.
