Ilene E. Edwards, age 90, of Fremont, Ohio, formerly of Bradner, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 21, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Fremont, Ohio. She was born on August 9, 1932, in Bowling Green, Ohio to the late Floyd & Lucille (Nixon) Swartz. She married Dale L. Edwards on January 28, 1948, in New Albany, Indiana and he passed away on September 22, 2005.

Surviving is her son, Michael (Debbie) Edwards of Bradner, Ohio; daughters, Debra Fehse of Monroe, Michigan, Patricia Edwards of Stambaugh, Kentucky, Peggy (Ronald) Vaeyens of Fremont, Ohio, Denise Holmes of Port Clinton, Ohio; brothers, Harry Swartz of Fostoria, Ohio, Lawrence Swartz of Dayton, Ohio; sisters, Anabel Myers of Lima, Ohio, Susan Price of Fostoria, Ohio; 22 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd & Lucille; husband, Dale; brothers, Irvin, Dale, Donald Swartz; sisters, Florence Peoples, Dorothy Roe, Pauline Galbraith, Helen Stahl, Roseann Kimble; son-in-law, Rich Fehse; granddaughters, Kristy Lopez, Tina Fehse; great grandsons, Jacob Lopez, Michael Enright, Garrett Holmes; and great-great-grandchildren, Axel, Ashtyn, and Ashlynn Dean.

Ilene worked and retired from B.G.S.U. in food preparation as a cook. She was a member of the Albert Bowe American Legion Auxiliary in Bradner, Ohio. Among many hobbies over the years, she enjoyed crocheting, crafting and her greatest love in life was spending time with her family, especially all her grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, where a Celebration of Life Service will begin Tuesday at 1:00 PM with Pastor Ron Merritt Officiating.
