Johnson, Juanita Bernadette – Age 83, Truro, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2022, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Summerside, PEI, she was the only daughter of the late Chester Ralph and Laura Florence (Saunders) Johnson.

Juanita moved to Truro at a young age receiving her early education at the former Alice Street School and later graduating from the Colchester County Academy, Truro. She graduated from the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow as a Registered Nurse in 1961. Juanita spent the majority of her nursing career in the Colchester Regional Hospital, retiring in 1994.

She enjoyed travelling with friends and family and she particularly loved taking cruises. She also had much love and enjoyment for her niece and nephew, as well as her great niece and great nephews.

She is survived by her brother, Dr. Harold Johnson (Mary-Jean) of Moncton, NB; nephew, Christopher (Julie), Dartmouth; niece, Gillian (partner, Clyde) and son, Benny, Moncton; great niece, Emily and great nephew, Ethan, Dartmouth as well as her companion, Roy Grant.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Juanita’s memory may be made to the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Foundation or charity of choice.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 16th from 1pm until time of service at 2pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS, with Father Jim O’Connor officiating. Reception to follow. Interment will follow the reception in the Bible Hill Cemetery, Bible Hill, NS.
