Casey Dodson

Casey Dodson, 67, passed away unexpectedly Sunday December 11, 2022. Born May 6, 1955 in Toledo, Ohio to William and Donna (Gagnet) Dodson. Casey graduated from Central Catholic High School and went on to achieve his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Toledo. He had a long career in that field with the Lucas County Sheriff Department and later in life as a semi-successful Professional Process Server for his independently owned business, Dodson & Associates.

Casey was married to his soulmate, Kathryn Dodson for 43 years. Together, they had two children, while opening their home to so many others.

“Big Case” was an enthusiastically involved father who was always willing to step up for the kids. He coached baseball, softball, football and broomball. He loved the U.P. of Michigan where him and Kathy spent summers at the family cabin. Casey was known for his storytelling, humor, and contagious laugh. He was a self-proclaimed Horticultural Specialist.

Casey was an avid Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Bears fan and he loved blues music. Casey and his beloved wife, Kathy went to just about every concert BB King played in the area.

Casey was preceded in death by his son Casey Dodson II, sister Mary Beth Fackler, nephew Robert Gebhardt III, best bud Mark Miller and Murphy his beloved dog.

Surviving, is his wife Kathy (Gebhardt) Dodson, daughter, Sarah (John Williams) Dodson, son, Shane Staccone, brother, Matt (Carleen) Dodson, and brother-in-law Timothy Fackler. His nieces and nephews:

Brittany Kumiega, Jason (Ashleigh) Hochstettler,

Linden Gebhardt, Gunnar Gebhardt, Korynne (Josh) Serna,

Joe (Amanda) Dodson, Jon (Andrea) Dodson, Meghan (Greg) Bergstedt,

Samuel Fackler and Jacob Fackler.

The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Road Saturday December 17, 2022, after 1:00 p.m. where a memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations can be sent directly to the family.
