<p>Vera Jean Gardner, 92, of McHenry, MD, died Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, MD.</p><p><br></p><p>Born May 24, 1930, in Rockwood, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Viola (Baker) Weimer. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey and David Gardner; one brother, Richard Weimer; and one sister, Virginia (Weimer) Koontz.</p><p><br></p><p>Mrs. Gardner was a private music teacher for over 40+ years. She attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she received her Bachelor’s degree and a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. Vera was very active in the music program in Tangerine Woods Community in Englewood, FL. She attended Bethel United Presbyterian Church, Monroeville, PA and Paradise United Methodist Church, Oakland, MD. </p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Sophia Gardner, Elkton, MD; one granddaughter, Sarah (Thaddeus) Kennedy, Rising Sun, MD; two great-grandchildren, Nora and Olen Kennedy.</p><p><br></p><p>At her request she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.</p><p><br></p><p>Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.</p><p><br></p>

Vera Jean Gardner, 92, of McHenry, MD, died Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, MD.


Born May 24, 1930, in Rockwood, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Viola (Baker) Weimer. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey and David Gardner; one brother, Richard Weimer; and one sister, Virginia (Weimer) Koontz.
