Doylestown -- Norma Jean Meade, age 90, of Doylestown, formerly of Rittman, passed away on Sunday evening, December 4, 2022, at Summa Barberton Hospital, following a period of declining health.

Norma was born on June 20, 1932, in Rittman, Ohio, to the late William and Ethel (Owings) Seebauer and graduated from Rittman High School with the class of 1950.  She married Walter Meade in 1951, raised 4 children together, and separated 38 years later in 1988.

She worked as a Machine Operator for PCA for 33 years, retiring in 1994.

Norma was a former member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed doing yardwork, listening to country music, attending country western shows, and watching sports, especially the Indians, Browns, and Cavs. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren. She was dedicated to her family and always wanted to be sure that her family was well taken care of. She wasn’t into material possessions, but instead went to work and came home to take care of her family.

Surviving are her children, Jim (Nora) Meade of Doylestown, Greg (René) Meade of Rittman, Peggy (Greg) Jerome of Coventry Township, and Lisa (Erin) Neider of Wooster; six grandchildren, Ashley Meade, Megan (Ethan) Johanyak, Sam (Allison) Jerome, Noah Jerome, Zach (Caylee Osborne) Jerome, and Dylan Neider; great grandson, Caleb Jerome; two sisters, Marlene Tucker of Akron, and Brenda (Lawrence) Rexroad of Sharon Center; sister-in-law, Ardelle Seebauer of FL; brother-in-law, Frank Moser of FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandchildren Jacob and Molly McGeorge, sisters Esther Lance and Phyllis Moser, and her brother Kenneth Seebauer.

Friends may call from 10-11am on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman.

Services will follow at 11:00am on Friday morning at the funeral home with Pastor Ruthie Trigg officiating. Burial will take place at the Rittman Cemetery.
