<p>WHITEVILLE—Sarah Thelma Hemingway Ward, 97, of 713 West Burkhead Street, Whiteville, died Sunday, December 4, 2022, at her home. </p><p>The funeral will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 9, at Saint Mark AME Zion Church, 114 West Virgil Street, Whiteville, by Dr. Charlrean Mapson. Burial will be in the Millican Cemetery. </p><p>Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Chapel Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and at the church Friday following the service. </p><p>Surviving are her daughters, Evelyn Rorie of Whiteville and Ruth N.
