Born October 5, 1928 in Jackson Heights, Queens, NY. Died November 29, 2022, surrounded by family and friends, at the Anthology of Tuckahoe, Richmond, Virginia where she was residing.

Audrey grew up in Jackson Heights, New York, Audrey was an accomplished pianist and was even accepted by The Julliard School, music school in New York City, New York. Audrey was also a very talented and prolific artist with a specialty in Oil painting. Audrey graduated with a teaching degree from St. Thomas Aquinas College, Rockland County, New York. Her teaching career spanned the Fairfax County private school system until she retired. She had a great love for teaching and continued substitute teaching into her 70's.

Audrey was married to Arthur (Jack) Grimes since December 6, 1952 for 66 years until his death November 23, 2018. They have three children: Susan (Scott), David, and Pamela (John). Grandchildren to include Benjamin, Jeffrey, Caleigh, Cheyanne (Nick) and their three children Wyatt, McKinley, and Bear all of Vermont. Grandchildren Brian (Leah), Katelyn, Mark, Jordanka, Jeffrey (Krissie) and their daughter, Billie Jackie all of Virginia.

Audrey was very social and enjoyed her family, especially enjoying the holiday seasons when everyone gathered at ‘home’ in Annandale, Virginia. Audrey enjoyed the friendship and support of a very special group of ladies known as the Deli Girls where they met at the Deli to talk about life and living with a loved one who suffered from Dementia.

We will all miss her as a mother, and as a friend. We were blessed to have her as long as we did.
