Elizabeth Zimmer Obituary

Elizabeth was born to Peter and Annie (Lipinski) Mayer on June 24, 1935.

Lizzy, as everyone affectionately called her, grew up on the family farm southwest of Grayson where her nephew and his wife, Dwayne and Lori Zimmer, live today.

She married Jack Zimmer at St. Mary’s Church in Grayson on July 9, 1956.  In 1960, Jack and Lizzy purchased the Zimmer family homestead from Jack’s mother which is located southwest of Grayson and has remained in the family since 1902 where they raised their family of three boys. Jack and Lizzy enjoyed the farming life, going to the lake, camping, taking bus tours, fishing, snowmobiling and spending time with their boys.

Jack and Lizzy ran their mixed farm until their retirement in 2001.  The couple enjoyed being members of the Grayson’s Polka Days organization, various church committees and spent 8 years as Chair Couple for St. Mary’s Parish. Lizzy graciously donated numerous hours and many cakes to the Church and Grayson community events.

Lizzy loved her garden, flowers and yard, bingo and playing cards with family, friends and neighbours.  Her true passion was dancing.  We are sure her and dad are dancing up a storm today. Her baking and cooking skills were second to none and her kitchen was always the centre of entertainment.

Elizabeth entered her eternal rest peacefully on Monday November 28, 2022 at the age of 87.
