Obituary for Darlene A. Helms

Darlene Helms, 73, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on November 29, 2022 following a period of illness.

Born in Elmira, NY, on August 4, 1949, to the late Leon and Rose May Moss, she was the wife of the late Patrick Kevin Helms (USA, Ret., Purple Heart). She was a strong woman of sterling character who devoted her life and love to family, friends, and all those whose paths she crossed.

Darlene will be remembered for her strength, courage in the face of adversity, and her constancy in always remaining positive through all life's 'ups and downs'. In her limited free time, she enjoyed the outdoors and was a passionate gardener and hobbyist with amazing creativity and artistic ability.

She is survived by her loving sons and daughter, John (wife, Lori) Helms of North Smithfield, Matthew (wife, Angelique) Helms of Uxbridge Massachusetts, Emery Helms (fiancée, Seanna) of North Attleboro and Nichole Helms (Steven Campbell) of Hope Valley; cherished grandchildren, Cody, Collin, Alyssa, Natalie, Alex, and Kaylee; and dear sister, Jean Eldridge of Palsly Florida. She was predeceased by another sister, Sandy Detsch.

In accordance with her wishes, Darlene will be cremated and laid to rest in the beautiful Upstate New York countryside following a private memorial service at a later date. May she rest in peace and be rewarded for the good that she did and the legacy she leaves.
