Thomas Leroy Day, JR. Obituary

Topsham--Thomas Leroy Day, Jr., age 58, passed away peacefully at Mid Coast Medical Center in Brunswick, ME, on November 24, 2022, following complications from a heart condition. He was surrounded by his family.

Thomas was born in Portsmouth, NH on August 6, 1964, the first-born child and son to Thomas Leroy Day, Sr. and Pamela Eugenia Ramsay. Thomas grew up in Portsmouth, raised mainly by his grandparents, Gustava Maude Allen and Leslie Amelius Ramsay. It was at the Seacrest Recreational Center, where Thomas trained and fought in the art of boxing. Thomas was a formidable competitor in both mental and physical athletics. He excelled in chess. All through school, he ran track and played soccer. As an adult, Tommy became a fierce skier and hockey player and never stopped playing chess.

In his mid-thirties, he lived in Aspen, Colorado for many years before moving back east to Conway, New Hampshire where he started a family. Thomas was a hard-working tradesman; he was a skilled carpenter and welder.

Thomas loved his family with all his heart. His children were the two most precious gems in his crown. Tommy adored his three younger sisters and never stopped being their protector.

Thomas was a God-fearing man, raised in the Portsmouth Seventh Day Adventist Church where he was taught about the love of Christ and always kept a deep faith in its doctrine. He often talked about how he looked forward to the second coming of Christ.

Thomas was predeceased by a sister, Sasha Loopley.

Thomas is survived by his son, Cameron Rory Day; his daughter, Mackenzie Hannah-Rita Day; his parents, Thomas and Pamela Ramsay; his sisters, Faith Day Crooker, Shawn Michelle Day, and Jessica Samala Day, his brother, Gregory Chistophel; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and countless cousins.
