Obituary

Roger Mullin was a cherished loving father, brother, uncle, friend and proud WWII Veteran. He was born in Detroit, MI on March 28, 1928 to Farris and Nagela Mullin, and he went home to be with Jesus at the well-lived age of 94 on November 26, 2022.

Roger had a zest for life and earned many accomplishments beginning with his graduation from Cass Tech High School in Detroit in 1946. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, proudly serving in the 82nd Airborne Division during World War II. Upon his return he earned an Industrial Engineering degree from Lawrence Institute of Technology in 1956.

Roger was active in giving to his community as a Shriner and a Third-Degree Master Mason-Freemasonry. He retired in 1996 after 40 years as an automotive engineer for Ford Motor Company.

He loved his children beyond measure, and he extended his care to his nieces and nephews, always there to provide guidance and support. His warm, inviting, and generous nature endeared him to all he met.

One of his favorite activities was meeting groups of friends for breakfast at the mall or the Coney Island. Although in his last years he developed Alzheimer’s disease, his sense of humor and love for people remained.

Roger is preceded in death by dearly beloved son David Farris Mullin, sisters Mabel Mullin Dakdduk and Julia Mullin Makarem, and niece Julie Grace Sim.

He is survived by his treasured daughter Sarah Mullin and sister Thelma Mullin Sim, along with five nieces, two nephews, and 14 grand-nieces & nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Michigan Humane Society.
