<p>Our loving Father, Grandfather and Uncle was called home on Monday, November 28, 2022. Mr. Winfield was a loving man and GOD truly blessed him with Long Life and prosperity and we are truly going to miss his presence.</p><p></p><p>​Mr. Ward Sylvester Winfield was born on August 22, 1926, to the late Mr. William and Naomi Winfield. After completing grade school and high school he attended St Paul College HBCU located in Lawrenceville, Virginia where he received his B. S. Degree in Industrial Science. He later was drafted in the United States Army and developed skills as an Expert Artillery Specialist, and he served his country for 8 yrs. He later went to pursue his master’s degree from North Carolina A&amp;T. He subsequently went on to teach at several learning institutions including Norfolk State University with his tenure ending at Tidewater Community College where he taught 28 years in Computer Architectural Design.</p><p>​Mr. Winfield was a member of First Baptist Church, located in Norfolk, Virginia where he served as a cherished member of the deacon board. He changed his church membership to Saint Paul Episcopal Church in Norfolk, Va. He was from a family of 4 siblings. Alvin Winfield, Vernon Winfield, and Thalia Winfield all are Deceased. He is survived by his sister Ms. Nettie Winfield Mensia, his daughter Kimberly Winfield (Isaiah) and two granddaughters Kyra and Riley Brown. Left to cherish fond memories of him are nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, and extended family.</p>
