<p>EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Essie Richard Fruge announces her passing on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas. She was 93. A Celebration of Life will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, in the Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Deacon Chuck Ortego officiating.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In Essie’s younger years, she was a secretary for May Brothers in Eunice. She enjoyed camping with her husband and loved Cajun French music. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend and will forever be remembered by her son, Randall "Randy" Fruge and wife, Jan of Eunice; daughter, Myra Fruge Miller of Eunice; four grandchildren, Nick Fruge, Casey J. Fruge, Adrienne Miller, and Megan Miller Guidry; eleven great grandchildren, Grace Fruge, Abram Fruge, Andrew Fruge, Zachary Fruge, Caroline Fruge, Samuel Fruge, Matthew Fruge, Winston Guidry, Isaac Guidry, Daniel Fruge, and Jacob Fruge; as well as extended family and friends.<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; She is preceded in death by her husband, Leighton Paul Fruge; parents, Placide Richard and Adelaide Guillory Richard LeJeune; step-father, Orelice LeJeune; brothers, Placide Richard, Sydney Richard, Enos “Junior” Richard Jr., Burley Richard, and Jesse LeJeune; and sisters, Delia Richard Fruge and Hattie Richard Andrepont.&nbsp;<br> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, November 29th from 9:00 am until services.
