David Ray Gilbert, 70, of Conover, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Autumn Care in Saluda.

He was born April 2, 1952 in Catawba County to the late Roy Lee Gilbert and Laura Hedrick Gilbert. David enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and friends, and riding and working on bicycles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Gilbert; and sisters, Eula Winebarger, Francis Stapleton, Hazel Riley, Martha Hedrick, Mary Travis, and Frieda Gilbert.

A memorial service to celebrate David’s life will be held at a later date.
