James Edward Renner

RENNER, James Edward

October 10, 1941-November 23, 2022

Jim passed away peacefully at home November 23, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband to Mary (nee Stortz) for 56 years. A wonderful father to Teresa (Gary Mathieson), Deb Renner and Brad Renner (Christa). A special grandfather to his 5 grandchildren - Jacob (Melissa Ruetter), Josh and Jessica Mathieson, Tyler Francis-Renner and Emiley Renner. Jim was born and raised in Cambridge (Preston) and was the youngest of 13 children in the Renner family. He is survived by his brother Bob Renner (Pat), his sister-in-law Ilean Renner, and brothers and sisters-in-law Victor (Pauline) Stortz, Orval (Laura) Stortz and Beryl Stortz. Son of the late John and Louise (nee Kraemer) Renner. Jim was also pre-decreased by his siblings Harry (Adelaide), Rita McCrudden (Jim), Wilf (Liz), Rose Dolson (Albert), Sister Donalda Renner, Helen Renner, Frank (Louise), Leo (Mary), Joe (Shirley Jeanne), Jerry, Bill and his brothers and sisters-in-law Joe Stortz and Ambrose (Teresa) Stortz. His memory will be treasured by his many nieces and nephews and their children, as well as numerous life-long friends. Jim’s grandchildren were his pride and joy. He took great interest in all their activities and was a fan at many of their events. His passion for woodworking is evident in the many fine pieces of furniture and toys he made. As a young man, bowling and baseball were a large part of his life. Family was extremely important to Jim, and he was always keeping in touch with his large extended family. The family wishes to extend a special thank you the many doctors who cared for Jim over the years including Drs. Nagrani, Wynveen, D. Renner, Hollowell, Au, Lee, Halligan, Ribic and Batra. Our gratitude for the in-home care given by Nurse Practitioner Donna, Palliative Care Nurses Benedetta and Armanda, Nurse Carrie and Janet for their kindness and loving care to both Jim and his family. Also, a very special thank you to Angela and her team at Preston Medical Pharmacy. Cremation has taken place. All are welcome to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Clements Catholic Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge Ontario on Saturday December 3rd at 10am. A reception will follow immediately after in the parish hall. A private family burial will be held at later date.
