Gregory A. Heiser Obituary

Gregory Allen Heiser, 61, of Lake Forest, IL, passed away on November 19, 2022 after a long battle with Uveal Melanoma. Greg is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Susan. He was the adoring father of his two sons, Geoffrey and Jonathan Heiser; cherished son of Jane and Edward Heiser; dear brother to Christopher (Magda) Heiser and Jennifer (Steven) Gullickson.

Greg graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor’s Degree and Masters of Architecture. After interning and working a short time for residential firm Burch, Burch & Burch, LTD., he began his health care architecture career that spanned 37 years with Hansen Lind Meyer (HLM). After 8 years with HLM, he joined O’Donnell Wicklund Pigozzi and Peterson, Inc., which was acquired by CannonDesign in 2009. He continued his fulfilling career at CannonDesign where he directed many award-winning health care projects including Advocate Aurora Health’s Lutheran General Hospital Center for Advanced Care and Patient Tower.

One of Greg’s proudest accomplishments was the beautiful home he designed for his parents and family members in Green Lake, WI where many happy family gatherings are held each year.

Greg had a passion for fly fishing, hiking and enjoying nature. Devoted to the conservation of streams, rivers and habitats, he was an active member of Trout Unlimited and Nature Conservancy. Greg was a dedicated husband, father and son, always present for all of his family and friends, never missing any activities or important events.
